Bar Louie is an enigma to me. I've been going to it since it opened (not as a regular but maybe once a month) and have enjoyed it. But I do know a number of people (my mom included) that have had horrible times there. From saying it's too crowded to slow service to mediocre food tends to be all I hear. Strangely I have never walked in and seen the place ridiculously busy. I have always been able to pull up a spot at the bar with no issues. I'll admit the bartending crew has been a bit hit or miss. A few people were really good while a couple others would just stand there (because it wasn't busy) despite a person sitting there needing a drink or wanting to order food. Though one particular bartender (Courtney I believe her name is) is awesome. She's waiting on me a number of times and always seems to be in good spirits and is on the ball. They have a big number of tap handles for beer including a good assortment of craft, which always makes me smile. It's a lot of your staples in craft beer like DFH 60 Minute, CCB Jai Alai, Rogue Dead Guy and such but I'm more than happy with that. Prices on them are pretty good too. Get a 20 oz glass and you will save money, trust me. But my favorite part about Bar Louie is the Fried Louie burger. When I want something just a bit more than a regular burger this is my go to. Fried egg, bacon and cheese on a burger. It's delicious every time. Yes there have been a couple times that my fries were luke warm at best but now I've been getting tots instead with it. And the tots with queso are awesome. Now the prices on food is a little high in my opinion but I guess for the thing they are going for it's what you should expect. Like I said this is just a once a month indulgence thing for me. I don't doubt the people that have told me about packed houses but I just have never seen it. There are honestly times I've gone in on a Friday night around 10 and it's near empty and I wonder how the place actually stays open. I guess I'm just lucky to miss the crowds. I believe it's a place that is at least worth a try to someone that hasn't been.

Cool bar/ restaurant. Outside bar area is perfect for watching the games and hanging out with friends, especially when the weather is nice. There's another bar inside, plus tables for dining, all looking at different TVs setup throughout the place. Didn't get to have dinner this time but drinks were delicious and not expensive. Service was quick... Would like to go back and try their food - everything being served around looked good.

Was invited for UYE Saturday night and it was a great place! Major props to Patty for organizing this! Finally on in the 561 area! The location is nice and the place is very spacious. They have an outside bar and inside one. One area is dedicated to the restaurant. I wish I would of arrived earlier to order something to eat because the food looked delicious but I will have to return. I ordered a glass of pinot grigio Italian wine. It was great. Service was awesome. They were on point the whole night. Definitely need to check this place out again!

I like the food, the nacho trio is good, $1 burger night is great, drinks are reasonable. But I've had some times that the service isn't that great, they don't attend to you unless you stand up and look for someone. And then they still are no where to be found when you need them, their nice for the most part, and I'm sure they're busy, but no one even came out to help our server. If its slow and if I sit at the bar then I'm able to get help, not so much outside. Prices are not cheap, but not terrible.

The service is so bad it's unbelievable I can understand that dollar beer night can be very hectic but to continually serve the same 5 people while ignoring the other 40 standing at the bar is stupid. But what really got me was the nasty woman behind the bars comment to the man standing next to me. "I don't serve you because you don't tip well." Really lady?! You are supposed to earn your tips. First off try to keep the nasty look off your face and try smiling at least once.. I will never go back here. Terrible...

great food and drink specials. The bar is big and has a nice vibe. Love our Wednesday nites here.

$1 Domestic Draft beers on Wednesday all day... are you kidding me? Can't beat that. Great service at that. My bartender didn't seem (too) annoyed that all I was getting was $1 beers, and that is really important! To be fair, I was not aware of this special until arrival.

My favorite place in Boynton!!!! My best friend and I are regulars there on Wednesday nights for DOLLAR BEER NIGHT! annnnnddd maybe the awesome bartender Gary. He knows us well. We only go on Wednesday's to hang with him. The atmosphere is great! gets a little loud Rowdy towards the end of the evening, ten or so at night! But if you are looking for fun, cheap and a mixed age group crowd, this is the place for you!

Bar Louie keeps going downhill. It used to be the hip place to be in Boynton, but now they can't seem to keep a crowd. I went there this past Sunday to watch football since I know that I'll be able to watch my team, but unfortunately we were faced with horrible service. We sat at the outdoor bar for 15 minutes and no one came out to greet us, nor take our drink order so we left . I want to like this place , but they can't get it together .

Great beer selection. Really like how they offer beer from local breweries. A tour at Due South Brewing (5 minutes away) followed by lunch and a beer here makes for a great Saturday afternoon. Nice variety on the menu. We usually sit outside. The service outside can be hit or miss. Sitting at the bar usually works out ok, but service at a table can sometimes take a while. The tables and menus seem to always need wiping down. Overall, the beer and appetizer selection make this a perfect meet up spot.

Went here with my sister and I was surprised at how good the food was actually. The drinks were well made and the staff was great. The place itself is very pretty and well done and I like that there is a large section outside to sit as well I will definitely come again.

Ate there last night. Or should I say we attempted to. We decided to give it a second chance. We won't be going back. No top shelf liquor and warm draft beer. The waiter was not knowledgeable of the menu. After waiting for 1/2 an hour for our salads, and twice requesting to see a manager, we did something i never did. We got up and walked out. How does a restaurant specializing in burgers run out of french fries ? Especially when they were a 1/4 full and all the surrounding restaurants were packed. We walked across to the Village Tavern, were seated promptly, and the wait staff could not have been better. And I was able to get fries with my burger.

My husband and I went for drinks and had their flat breads, which were very good. The bartenders were very attentive. Nice atmosphere. Will return.

The UYE was a good turnout. I had fun meeting everyone here tonight. Of course, the pretzel sticks was a must. We love them! I had the baked mac and cheese. It was very cheesy and creamy. I couldn't finish all of it. I had the choice to add a meat with it, but I opted not to. The strawberry fizz is a very nice drink consisted of vodka, strawberry puree, and razzmatazz topped with champagne. I only had one strawberry with the three that I had (I could of had 10 of those drinks ;)) and I thought it was kinda funny they ran out of strawberries. Oh well, it was still delish! :) Thanks to our waitress for doing an outstanding job with the service and her recommendations were very helpful. Keep it up, Bar Louie!

Hooray for our first 561 Yelp event. It was not much of an event but more of a get together of some long lost friends it seemed. Bar Louie was one of two places in Compson Plaza that I have not been to yet and I don't know why I waited so long. The service was great last night. Our waitress was friendly and very attentive. I tried the Bavarian pretzels and they were amazing! It came with 3 types of dips and the queso was top notch. I ordered the mac and cheese with jalapenos and bacon because who doesn't love spice AND bacon? Definitely not this girl. The mac and cheese was tasty, very creamy. My fiance had the Blue Moon fish and chips. I assumed he loved it since there was nothing on the plate. A few odd things that did happen were that they ran out of strawberries and turkey. It was a busy Saturday night and I somehow managed to get the last strawberry in the house! Haha. The strawberry fizz was an amazing drink though I babied it all night. We will definitely be back, especially for the pretzels and possibly future 561 UYEs.

Good food and nice ambiance. Don't get the pizza appetizer. It's literally frozen pizza. The pretzel appetizer is awesome. Good selection

Poor service. We had a party here, and the appetizers disappeared (the boss had paid for an appetizer bar). Can't comment on the food, since it disappeared before I could eat any.

Went to Bar Louie and Margaritas last night for the Cinco De Mayo Block Party.. Both places are connected thru a courtyard and yet we got bitched at for having our Margaritas drinks at Bar Louie.. I go to Bar Louie prob about 10 times a month if not more and not only that I recommend them to all my friends and then to have a rude ass guy behind the bar not just talk to us like Adults but rudely Talk down to us like we were trash... We were in Bar Louie trying to order drinks which took for ever and they ran out of all 3 drinks that I happened to be ordering so then my friend walks up with drinks from Margaritas since Bar Louie didnt have and left of what we wanted to drink. Meanwhile we were trying to place a food order so it wasn't like we weren't trying to order drinks and food, we can not help it if the service sucked and was rude and wasn't making it possible for us to order drinks and food.. And to be yelled out by some employee is uncalled for and now for this I will never come here and I will recommend to all my friends to not come here again there is alot of competition in these hard times Employees need to learn how to have manners and treat paying customers with respect....

My boyfriend and I ate here last night and I was expecting poor customer service based on the reviews on here. I was pleasantly surprised and completely satisfied with our server. He was personable and pleasant and let us know about specials that they do and even suggested we wait 5 more minutes to order our beers so we could get the happy hour price. We had two burgers which were awesome and we shared the whiskey cake for dessert and it was delicious! The only poor experience of the night was that one of the beer glasses had some ants inside the rim, probably from being on a high shelf, but the manager Chris took care of our entire bill for us and was extremely apologetic. We're not expecting perfection. MIshaps happen, that's life. We were just extremely impressed with how well taken care of we were. We will definitely be back! Very disappointed we missed St. Patrick's Day here because our awesome server told us it was a great time. We'll be back to check it out next year :)

My wife and I have been going here on weekday evenings for about a year now. The beer selection is great and the food is almost always delicious. The only exception is the Tues night $1 burgers which only come well-done (like cardboard). But order a Blue Louie, or Fried Louie burger and you WON'T be disappointed! Also the apps are pretty special. We love the bruschetta and the Tempura Shrimp with 3 sauces is delicious!!! Can't speak for table service as we always sit at the bar, where the service is prompt. Overall, this place is good for those looking for good pub food in a laid-back atmosphere. We continue to be regulars!

A decent beer selection is the only thing that saves this place. The food is totally mediocre fare made to look pretty. Sorry, but the proof is in the taste and you'll be bored after the first bite. There are better spots to get a good brew with less annoying crowds, so why bother?

This place has the opportunity to capture a young crowd with disposable income with creative dishes and drinks but instead they offer up really overpriced crap. I ordered a baked macaroni and cheese dish with chicken. It seemed like boxed macaroni and cheese, definitely not baked and about 1 1/2 ounces of chicken minced up. My wife's chicken sandwich barely had enough chicken to cover half the bread. There are too many restaurants out there for us to go back to this one with sub-par food. Other people must agree. There were about four tables in use at 8pm on Saturday night. The beer selection in great though....

Two weeks ago we went for happy hour. The new bar tended is useless. I ordered Honeydew, a signature drink I have been getting since I started going there. Both times my drink was missing the Coconut Rum. The food was barely warm and the service was terrible. Not sure if I will return ever again. Sorry Bar Louis you've let me down 1 to many times.

Play by their rules, don't complain, and if you rock the boat expect to be treated badly. The wife and I would frequent this place multiple times a week. Sure the service was slow and inattentive, food was mediocre and on par with other establishments nearby, and it attracted the kind of crowd that still though Ed Hardy was hip and not pathetic. Still, we liked it, we liked being outside, they hosted good events, and it was a nice place to grab a couple drinks and food for not too much. At least until one night when we went, grabbed a round of drinks and because we'd taken the survey for a free appetizer ordered some potstickers. Normally we would have stuck around for another round, but had somewhere to be. We cashed out only to be informed that because it was Thursday night we couldn't use the coupon. Which is odd since we had before multiple times. The bartender was rude, the manager Selma who recognized us only sat by the kitchen and openly laughed at us. Since then we have never been back and never will go back. If you want cheap drinks and sub par food there is a Miller's across the street that will never talk down or treat you like trash.

If you expect to get any food here--plan on waiting 45 minutes for it. We ordered Tuna rare and a burrito. The tuna was stringy and the burrito was average. The manager took 20% off of the check after the waiter complained on our behalf. If you are just looking for a cool bar to have a few drinks at this place is fine, but if you want dinner bring your sleeping bag.

'We are dedicated to always remaining a local bar that delivers unforgettable experiences to every guest. Whether gathering with friends or unwinding with a cocktail, Bar Louie guests have come to expect the remarkable service and reliable experiences from us that keep them coming back over and over again.' This statement is prominently displayed on the official Bar Louie website, on 'Louie's Story' page; unfortunately, the service delivered by the Bar Louie Boynton Beach bar left much to be desired - it was quite possibly one of the most dissatisfying and frustrating experiences we have had (on National Server's Day, no less). My friends and I were very much looking forward to the New Beverage Menu Launch Party, as it was well promoted for the past three to four weeks. Upon arrival, we sat at a high-top table near the bar and waited for a server to come greet us and take our order - it took about fifteen minutes to be greeted and another half hour for two drinks. When we realized the waiter had forgotten us at the table, we moved to the bar expecting to receive better, faster service. When we arrived to the bar, we quickly realized that the shift for this event was completely understaffed, therefore we prepared ourselves to be even more patient than normal and wait for our drinks. Our excitement and moods were instantly soured by our bartender, Courtney. From beginning to end, she was absolutely unprofessional and unfortunately had an abominable attitude. With her facial expressions and body language, she conveyed a strong sense of anger, a complete lack of urgency and acted inconvenienced for having to take our orders. As we and other patrons requested our drinks, she would openly roll her eyes, huff and puff and would not once break her ill-tempered grimace. Once or twice in our view, Courtney would slam her fist on the bar in a fit of frustration. She exclaimed to us that she and the team were not trained on the new drinks and didn't know what ingredients were in them - which is understandably infuriating, however should not affect the service the customers receive. It begs noting that in the approximately two hours (6:40pm - 8:25pm) we were at Bar Louie Boynton Beach we were served only two rounds of drinks. When Courtney requested our first drink order, she made a strange, rude face at each of us and later in the evening our neighboring patrons indicated that she did the same to them. After waiting twenty plus minutes for our first round, she placed each of our drinks at the very edge of the bar nearest her so that we would have to reach across to pick them up. One of the customers requested ketchup for their food - with this request, Courtney rolled her eyes, declared that she didn't know where it was and five minutes later came back and slid the ketchup to the customer which landed much too far away to reach. For our second and last round, in the middle of our simple orders, Courtney turned away abruptly and bellowed that she needed to write down the orders. We heard her say that she would rather have all of the customers at the bar write down their orders as it would be easier for her. Incredulously, when a group of three came to the bar and requested drinks, Courtney took receipt tape, handed it to them with a pen and told them to write down their orders. Another customer who requested a drink from the New Beverage Menu, was promptly shut down by Courtney saying that she was out of lemon lime and told them to pick another drink - interestingly enough, a kinder waiter came by and told the customer that they did, in fact, have lemon lime and that she would make it for them. Throughout all of this, my friends and I were patient and polite. We quietly asked a different waiter to see a manager so as not to further provoke Courtney; however, the manager carelessly never came by. This is extremely disheartening as one would think that a manager of an establishment which boasts 'remarkable service and reliable experiences' would have enough integrity to hear out his customers and alleviate a uncomfortable and distressing situation. When we first arrived, we were as excited about our drinks as we were about the food, but we ended up not ordering any food because of the heinous service delivered to us by Courtney. This thought seemed to be the consensus among many of the customers at the bar during the New Beverage Menu Launch Party. Unfortunately for Bar Louie Boynton Beach, I know I will not be back and will ensure to spread the word. This is not how a business should be run, especially a restaurant which is completely dependent on customer satisfaction.

First time at this place. A girlfriend lives in the area and told me about the Tuesday night $1.00 burgers! YES! You heard right! I said I would meet her and also told another friend in the nearby area to come meet us as well. (She came later; however). Let me first state that I called the restaurant up to make sure I had the right directions since I wasn't familiar with the area and was greeted on the phone by a pleasant young lady (name escapes me now) who was polite enough to state that she wanted to give me over to someone that would help me arrive there since she wasn't very sure of the directions that I was discussing with her. Sean (or Shawn) was very polite and basically talked me all the way there into the parking lot when I was rather close and unsure of my surroundings. I arrived before my friend at about 8:15 pm and Sean (or Shawn) was funny when he asked me if I was looking for my friend. I said, "yes" and, he said, I'm STILL on the phone with her helping her to get here!" I laughed and, it was funny that he KNEW that it was me that was on the phone with him. My friend arrived and, we were told by John that we could sit anywhere and that he would be our server in just a minute. The place was NOT packed, but this is understandable due to the time and/or maybe NOT too many people know that they have this Tuesday night $1 burger night as well as other specials during the week. John came to our table promptly as he stated and took our drink orders. I elected to have a dirty martini special that was about the norm in the area of martini's...$10. What made this dirty martini special was the olive juice, obviously, but the three Blue cheese stuffed olives on the stick. Simply yummy and something I've yet tried before. We both ordered the special burgers for the night, albeit, my friend ordered the turkey burger instead. I opted NOT to for fear that it would be dry, but she had been there many times before and, I should have taken her suggestion. It was moist and meaty. Mine on the other hand, was well done; unfortunately, ordering the burger special cannot be ordered to your specification. You simply cannot order it rare, medium rare or medium. It comes out how it is....well done, which is NOT my ideal burger choice (give me medium rare please) but it was a night with friends and specials so it was ordered with grilled onions, sauteed mushrooms, Provolone cheese (various choices on the menu) and tomato. Lettuce is a given on it. All extra items are 50 cents each...not too bad for a $3 dollar burger for me as it was pretty big. I chose NOT to eat the top bun and ate it open faced even though it was a nice whole grained bun. I was a bit surprised that I had to pay for tomatoes, but again, it IS what it is and I enjoyed it. I ordered their basket of tater tots as a crispy treat and reminder of my childhood. I ate a few and, the friend that showed up during the meal, ate the rest. They were crispy and NOT greasy at all. Water with lemon was given at the beginning of the meal and, my two friends ordered iced tea as well. When we were finished and about to pay the bill, the fire alarm went off which coincidentally happened to be over our table and was ear piercing loud. Unfortunately, the fire Marshall was the ONLY one that would be able to turn it off so we quickly paid the bill to get out of there quick. As only the fire alarm was the only deterrent of the evening, I think this place was a great eatery/drinking establishment and should be tried out with an open mind. I read some previous reviews and was sorry to hear that these patrons felt the way they did and had such poor service. I, and my friends enjoyed our evening with the exception of the fire alarm at the end of the meal and thought the place was pleasant with the surroundings and didn't feel crowded or that we had to speak loud for any reason. I would definitely return to this establishment and try some of their other mouth watering dishes that I saw on the menu as I perused it. Give it a try..I don't think you will be unhappy about it in the least bit. I will definitely return!

This place is shit. This is the type of place you get dragged out to because a friend of a friend is forcing you to go for some asshole's birthday or something. Go here if you like to stand in a crowd of annoying bro types and club girls. This place makes me want to shoot myself.

I'm usually here 1-2 times a month with my girlfriend. What I like most about them is their endless mimosas during brunch (I like the blueberry the most). Other times, we're usually here on a Tuesday for their $1 Burger night. These $1-burgers are only cooked well-done. It's not the best, but hey, it's $1.00. It comes with buns and lettuce. Additional toppings and condiments cost extra. I usually get two patties, tomatoes, and barbecue sauce. It would be a pretty cheap dinner for me, but the gf and I always end up getting drinks as well. The atmosphere here is great. Nice place to meet up with friends for dinner or even just to get drinks. Also, it happens to be a very fun place on Cinco de Mayo (more fun than the Margaritas next door).

What a surprise! This was a wonderful location and venue for groups, date nights, or just for a drink. The drinks were so refreshing and on point. My drink included mint, splash of vodka and cucumbers...yummy!!! The food was just as tasty and enjoying as the drinks...lemon crusted chicken with rice pilaf. The chicken was very tender, melting right in your mouth. However, the ginger shrimp wrapped lettuce came with the lettuce on the side, two different sauces and the ginger shrimp with not much shrimp but am overwhelming presentation of sauces. It was too much going on in that dish. Overall, the place was great and we shall return...of course choosing different dishes. Let's not forget the great music played at this venue. You will definitely enjoy...family, groups, and meetings.

Giving even one star is extremely hard to do. My friends and I all started going to their "dollar burger night" 5 years ago and we really enjoyed our weekly outing. After a while, the service became close to unacceptable for any establishment and we stopped going altogether. The $10 martinis were not enough to keep us coming. After a few years had passed, we decided to go back and try it again. Huge mistake. Last nights experience was THE WORST I have ever had anywhere and I will NEVER go back. We took into consideration that we were a larger party. Nonetheless, we waited 25 minutes to be greeted and that's only because we pulled someone aside to tell them. We were greeted and we informed the server that we would have separate checks. Then we decided to order everything at one time because we figured it might take a while...ONE HOUR AND 12 MINUTES LATER we were still missing our drinks. Not even our waters or sodas were at the table. Our server didn't come to check on us and we never got our appetizers. We were planning on leaving and at that very moment, our food and drinks finally came. Go figure. My husband ordered an old fashioned and specified "no cherry". 57 minutes after ordering the beverage our server came over to ask him what it was he didn't want in his drink meaning it wasn't even made yet. When it did show up at the table it was a Manhattan in a martini glass with 4 cherries on a stick. The beers were flat and warm and were sent back to be redone. Most of our food was missing add ones or missing in general and when we asked to speak to a manager, we were told "I'll send her over right away! She's been going table to table because of all the problems". It was nice to know we were not the only ones having issues.. When she finally came over, we were explaining our concerns and all she said was "we're busy" "I'm sorry" "I've got 2 bartenders on tonight". It was all things we had heard from management before and a reminder of exactly why we stopped going there in the first place. We also knew they wouldn't adjust our bill to reflect their poor quality of service because the "we're busy" excuse is all they ever give so we were not surprised in the least when she didn't offer (as most restaurants would). You would think that things might have changed over the years but it seems to have just gotten worse which we never thought was possible. Our bill was $43.

This place is a disgusting establishment from every aspect.... The bartenders overserve D-bag south florida losers who think they are big shots (in boynton, fyi.. but boynton i got love but lets be honest....) who sleep on the bar. then my handicapped mother was relocated from her booth with my father 3x. I wish I was joking. FYI "manager" you shouldn't reserve happy hour seats AND seat a disabled person there only to move them 15 min later not once not twice but 3x. come on. the ada and the ABC will be hearing from me. dueces on this joint. oh and the food sucks. fyi

The food sure looks good.... but I wouldn't know because I've been waiting 30 minutes for my appetizers. Kitchen seems out of stock for everything. Service is very slow and they don't seem to have enough servers to keep up with the crowd. I'd like my food this century, please.

We ordered fried calamari and chicken Nachos from Bar Louie while at the World of Beer around the corner. The Calamari was rubbery and not worth the price. For about $ 10 we received maybe 10 pieces piled over a bunch of wilted lettuce. The Nachos were soggy with huge chunks of chicken that didn't fit on the chips. When we called them the person who answered the phone didn't seem to know anything about their menu and tried to charge a delivery fee for literally walking 200 feet. Overall I would not recommend this place. The only reason they have a second star is that food arrived very quickly.

  • Danielle J.

Not super impressed with the food but I am interested in the prices. Hopefully come back for a burger one night. Had the Mexican Sunrise and it was a bit sloppy, not terrible but too much liquid made the dish soggy. Not complaining about the beer menu, good assortment. Not bad for a bar to stop by.

Hello, Recently visited the famous dollar beer night at Bar Louie Boynton Beach. Consumed 4 14oz miller light beers (smaller then a regular pint.) 20 dollar bill before tip. The website right now states. 1/7/2015 dollar beer night on select domestic drafts. Select domestic drafts includ, Miller light, Bud light and Coors light. It is stated on the calander as well as the website ad. I captured a photo (screen shot) of both. False advertisement. I wrote to corporate and will either update or delete this post if they properly take care of the situation.

This place was a bit hard to find but well worth it. I was surprised to see it was packed on a Tuesday night but we soon realized why, it's $1 burger night. I took advantage of happy hour with a martini called 90 Miles to Florida that had mango rum, puree and pineapple juice, it was yummy! We also split the tempura shrimp and I we had 3 burgers between the 2 of us. Our bill came to $34 with tax, not too shabby (FYI toppings are extra). We sat at the inside bar and the service was attentive, friendly and fast. Can't wait to stop by again!

I had a happy hour beer here and was pleased with the cost and sort of pleased with the service. The bartender offered me a sample of one of the drafts and since I didn't care for it I ordered the shipyard pumpkinhead ale since I know I like it. She asked me if I had ever tried it with the flavor ring and would I like to. It took a LONG time but she finally presented me with a 20 oz beer that she had dipped in honey and cinnamon sugar. Pretty cool and looked nice. I am just not a big fan of chain places and saw some of the patrons food that looked meh. I would come back for happy hour though. They have a nice selection of drafts.

Great happy hour! I love the outdoor bar - it's huge and pretty, and even covered so the rain won't ruin it. The food and drink specials are awesome - very inexpensive and delicious. The veggie flatbread is my favorite. At times the bartenders are a bit standoffish but overall they are friendly enough. I didn't enjoy ordering a drink at 6:50 (10 minutes before happy hour ended) and having the bartender clearly forget about me - she brought it 20 minutes later and then told me I ordered after 7. She did at least correct the bill when I pushed back.

$1 Burger Night every Tuesday at Bar Louie starting at 5:00pm. For the value during happy hour makes eating on a budget economical with drinks at 1/2 price. Good location in the heart of Boynton trendy part of town amongst other bars and shops. A must checkout if you're in the area.

Bar Louie's offers a consistently fun environment, speedy service and good food.. In fact, in over a dozen visits I have only had 1 experience there to the contrary, which is a pretty solid percentage. Happy hour goes until 7 which means you can get delicious signature martini's, lots of local draft beer and tasty flatbread and other apps all for a discount with plenty of time to get there after work. Their menu is rather limited, for the most it has glorified bar food, but it is glorified and delicious. Oh and cant forget about Tuesday, Dollar Burger Night! Burgers start at just $1 and for increments of .25cents and up you can add all the toppings your heart desires. It's not hard to get a fully loaded burger for $4. The one downside to dollar burger night is all the burgers are cooked the same; if you like your burgers pink, better luck elsewhere on a Tuesday. I'm told that the other days of the week they will cook your burger how you want it,, but if you can bear a well done cow, the price on Tuesday will keep you coming back.

One of my favorite places! Good drinks, great service, awesome food! Try the chicken parm sliders and fries (some of the best french fries I've ever had!) Tuesday is $1 burger night and you won't be disappointed!

Talk about a great venue, with horrible service, and absolutely absent management. The bartenders outside were more concerned with texting their friends, than waiting on the guests. Food came out extremely late, and then, according to the tables around ours, cold at that. Many guests were very upset, and vocally complaining to one another regarding such. I would not return. Not worth it when you have so many other venues in the same immediate area vying for your business.

I was staying at the old reliable Hampton Inn and Suites down the street and wanted to check this place out. It was a Tuesday night and the place was actually pretty crowded. I found a table outside so I sat outside while the rain rained down and the heat and humidity did the work on my fair, red hair. The draft selection was very eclectic. However, like most of Florida, the vast majority was the BMC crowd. I was happy to see Arrogant Bastard and even some DFH on hand. Why is Florida so sparsely populated with good beer? I am not pleased. The vibe was hipster/techno. Plenty of large, red or black rimmed glasses donned by both staff and customers. Seems like a pretty cool place. Perhaps too "modern" and hipster and young for my tastes, but isnt it all about the beer? The food was pretty expensive. I think they had some lamb sliders for like $12.

Food was good but service was so bad I had to give bar louie a 1 star. Out of roughly 10 times we tried to get the waitresses attention she just kept on walking 6 or more of the times. Charged us for premium liquor without seeing if we wanted to upgrade, put items on our bill no one at our table ordered, forgot to input orders and when we finally got her attention she returned and then wanted to charge us for full price when we ordered during happy hour the first time. I hope bar louie hires better staff unless this is what they want the servers to do to increase the bill?

Potstickers for an appetizer which were very good, and came out in a timely manner. Also had the chicken Parmesan sliders, they were very good but the bread could've been toasted.. Was kind of mushy..

Good drinks, great price, and fun ambiance. They always have good live music. Yet, I am greatly disappointed in the food. I have eaten there two times and am always unimpressed with the food. 4 stars for drinks and prices. 2 stars for food.

My boyfriend and I have been to Bar Louie 3 times and each time it has been horrible. The bar tenders are extremely rude. We went their last Sat night and our wonderful bartender Lila was very rude. She asked what we were having to drink. My boyfriend told her his drink and then asked if she could also put the Dolphins game on. She looked straight at us and asked "Do you want your drink or for me to change the t. v. to the game"? Really? that's the way you speak to your customers? The place was dead on a Saturday night and now we both know why. We ended up cashing out and going to the new place that just open up down the road-Cooperpoint Brewing. Every bartender there at Cooperpoint Brewing was very nice and actually made the evening enjoyable. We would have never found Cooperpoint Brewing if it wasn't for Lila being so rude. So a very big Thank you to Lila, we now have a new place to go.

Typical chain restaurant food. Overpriced, underwhelming. The bar staff often seem flustered and are occasionally forgetful. They sometimes try to make up for it with a lil extra booze but I'd almost rather receive my order correctly and in a timely fashion. Otherwise, decent beer selection.

Bar Louie is always a treat. Was craving a Bloody Mary and decided to give Bar Louie a try. The Bloody Mary was absolutely delicious and the great part was that it was not so crowded, so the service was great as well. I recommend Bar Louie for Sunday Bloody Mary's.

A couple of coworkers and I went in after work last night (we are in the industry and really like the $1 burgers and extensive drink menu). The male bartender outside with the full beard is awesome. Very attentive. We decided to sit at a table last night because there were not enough open seats next to each other at the bar and we had 4 people. After 10 minutes of no service I went up to the bartender and asked him to take care of us. He was shocked no one had come to the table and immediately came over and took our drink order. After about 5 more minutes our waitress comes over and racks up the excuse that she was doing sidework. After she took our order (6 burgers and a side of fries), half of the order comes out. We had to wait another few minutes for the rest of the order. When that got dropped off she said she had put the orders on separate checks and that's why they came out the way they did. Oh and also there were lots of new people who "don't know what they're doing". Not to mention she gave us tots because she messed up (the fries finally came out long after we were done with our burgers). When we wanted to cash out we had to wait because she said she had to separate our checks...but wait! Didn't she already do that? That's why all our burgers came out at different times, right? We're all servers ourselves, and while my whole party tipped appropriately, we had a hard time justifying it. Next time we come I'd rather stand with no room at the bar with a bartender I KNOW will take care of us than a server with too many excuses as to why she can't do the minimum requirements of her job.

I've eaten here many times. The parm crusted chicken was very good. I also really liked the Ahi Tuna entree. Overall, for food at a place that is primarily a bar - I thought the food was pretty good.

Great vibe. Great space. Amazing staff and managers. Food is on point! $1 burgers...$2 dollar Martinis. Managers came by to say hello and ended up hanging for 10 minutes! Demanded we try the Clover Martini (amazeballs...his treat!).

One of my favorite spots in my area. Whether I am going there alone to have a drink and read my book or going there for dinner with friends. Rain or shine you can sit outside, they have WiFi if you have stuff to do online. I went here last St Patrick's Day too, they had a block party with half the parking lot blocked off. It was so much fun! Every nice bartenders that are attentive. You don't have to wait forever for a drink or food. Great happy hour and they have daily specials too! It's always busy but not over crowded.

Pretty good time is always had here, unless you're going for dollar burger night. I tried to reason and say "well the servers probably aren't making any money" but the service was horrendous.

This is my experience tonight: A friend and I went in at about 6:00 pm and the place is packed since its $1 burger night. Rude encounter #1: We find an empty high top for two and shortly after we rudely got told to move since they were on a wait. We didn't see anybody waiting. My friend approaches a different hostess who tells us that yes we can sit at that table since its a high top and not a booth or table. Rude encounter #2: My friend is a regular on Wednesdays along with some other friends and they always order "grilled chicken tossed in buffalo" which isn't exactly on the menu but they obviously make it. Our first server argued with my friend that the kitchen won't make this, its so busy, they have no way of putting in the computer, can only order off the menu, I need a name to enter it ect. She made no effort to help my friend find what she was looking for and didn't even offer to ask the kitchen because she knew there was "no way" it was going to happen even though my friend gets it all the time there. She insisted on putting in the boneless wings grilled instead. Friend gets manager, now there is like 5 people standing around the computer talking about this and making my friend feel like a criminal (including the manager) for ordering something not on the menu. They finally find a server who knows what to do and they assign her to our table; she is great. More bad stuff: I ordered a burger and fries, friend had the grilled chicken....we waited for an hour for our food. Seriously there were tables that came in after us who got food even after our order was fixed. New server tells us food is coming out...20 minutes later no food. My personal opinion is that since its $1 burger night they count on drink orders to increase sales/tips; the longer you wait at your table the more likely you are to order additional drinks. My friend an I are 30 somethings women who already ordered drinks...long wait. Two tables filled with elderly people drinking water...fast service...hmmm. In the end I canceled my order and my friend took a to go box AND the order wasn't even grilled, just baked/boiled chicken in sauce. Not going back for a very long while if ever.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE $1 BURGER NIGHT at BAR LOUIE!! Where else can you get dollar burgers that actually TASTE good?! Swung by for a quick bite to eat, and we had a great time. The service was fantastic... they were attentive and quick to take our order and bring our food out. I had a beef burger with grilled onions, roasted red peppers and pickles (50 cents each) and pesto mayo on the side along with a portobello burger. I ordered both medium; however, they were slightly more "done" than I prefer. Either way, I took the top of the bun off the burgers & got busy. Delicious & satisfying... plus 4 burgers (with toppings) and two drinks all for $14- definitely can't beat that. We will most definitely spend more of our Tuesday nights here!!

The reason for the two stars is not because of the food or beverage quality, it was because we were duped...after being told by the waitress that bar drinks were half-price that evening...we were CHARGED FULL PRICE when the bill came...no explanation, just overcharged...and this was after the waitress spilled a whole glass of water all over our table, and getting my shorts all wet!!! I do not mind paying, I just do not want to be scammed and lied to. We will NOT be back.. PATRONS BEWARE!

If you're not sitting at the bar, you're probably getting slow service here. The waitresses always seem to disappear. I'm giving them 3 stars though because I've never had any food here that I haven't liked. The flat breads are great, the boneless buffalo wings are awesome, and I love the pot stickers. I've never had their burgers, but from what I hear they are great, too and they have $1 burger night. Wednesday's, at this location, they have $1 beers! Can't go wrong with those deals.

Stopped in last night, minutes before Happy Hour came to an end and was very pleasantly surprised! Sat outside by the fountain and enjoyed the beautiful end to another South Florida day. I started off with the 1/2 off beer which in this case was the Angry Orchard Apple Cider. With the purchase of a drink on Tuesdays, was very happy to indulge in a $1 turkey burger! A remarkable deal for the tastiness of the burger and the cool, crispness of the beer. Additional toppings for the $1 burger range in price-- I chose the mozzarella cheese (.75 cents) and the "en fuego" sauce (.25 cents). The en fuego sauce is prepared with habaneros so it definitely carries a kick but its good! Already planning the remainder of my Tuesday summer nights at this lovely laid-back, patio area spot at Bar Louie!

Been there once with my wife. Its ok, nothing realy makes it stand out. They got some great deals ,but the menu is very limited. The staff there seem like they need leadership. They havent been geting it so far. But if your looking for cheap food & drinks this is the place for you. If your looking for great food & service, pass this place up.

Sorry. I've enjoyed Bar Louie operations in Chicago in several locations for the food, ambiance, prices, etc. Have tried the BB location a few times since they opened about 5 years ago. Never busy and service lags. I've known about the $1 Burger night and I was in the mood for a good juicy burger Tuesday night so the wife and I headed to Bar Louie and walked in to a crowded scene. Nobody under 65 and large groups that must have come by bus from the Senior Homes. OK - there was ONE family with two young children... they were quite noticeable. Now for the reason only 2 Stars --- the Medium Rare burger I wanted to order was not available. "No temperature" choice available and all burgers are medium to well-done. I was tempted to leave but was already enjoying my Absolute OTR (not included in Happy Hour $9.75) and decided to stay. I asked for grilled onions on my burger which did come WELL DONE. The onions provided the only juice along with the Ketchup I needed to add. No $1 bargain: Add $.75 for cheese and .50 for tomato to the wife's burger and .50 for my grilled onions. Good fries for $4.25 so without appetizer or dessert (diet coke $2.79) our $1 burger night was $22 plus tip. I suspect the burgers are prepared well in advance to handle the rush and thus they're well done and dried out. The experience won't entice me to come back for a long time, certainly not for $1 Burger night. Coincidentally when Shula Burger opened at the Atlantic / Lyons development they offered only "one temperature" for burgers. They now offer Rare, etc, but they need to offer something to customers who search for parking spaces for 20 minutes to get an over-priced burger.

Pretty weak overall. Certainly not the worst place to eat, atmosphere and decor are nice. Mediocre burger, with an almost burnt black bun, but the mac and cheese was pretty good.

Decided to check out the "$1 Burger Night." Not really a good deal when they charge you an extra dollar for each and every single add on (including cheese, tomato, lettuce, pickle, etc. - that's another $4 right there not including the side of fries). We ordered an appetizer of chips and salsa and got it AFTER our entrees. Makes no sense. They have a lot of seasonal beers on their menu but the first 3 I tried to order were out of stock. Not nearly as much variety as they claim. Our waiter was not helpful and took 20 minutes to get me a water. Overall not impressed.

I enjoy coming to bar Louie on Tuesday dollar burger days! I tend to come when it's also happy hour, so I feel like I'm getting the most bang for my buck. I always order quesadilla which comes with extra side and a plain burger with some sauces then I use the sides to enhance my burger experience I really try to stretch the dollar. On tap or drafts they do have Due South beer!

Stopped in for a drink and munchies. Decided on the 20oz Angry Orchard and chicken quesadilla. The net was cold. The food was hot with lots of chicken and cheese. Sides of guac, sore cream and salsa we're nice additions.

Looked up this place last year and reviews pretty much said, "skip it". Decided to give the Happy Hour a try since my Mom's P.T. lives in Renaissance and recommended Bar Louie for good Happy Hour. Excellent everything. Sat outside, very comfortable bar seats(could use purse hooks), 3 great apps.(boneless wings, came 3 ways; we had Szechuan style with Hoi San sauce; really good and plentiful; a chicken verde flatbread sprinkled with fresh cilantro(thanks Gaby for that recommend) and fried calamari; fresh, crispy, tender and tentacles included served with a little spicy cocktail sauce(it was good but I would have preferred a different dipping sauce like Thai chili or Marinara) Now for the 'piece de resistance", " Effen Good" Martini at $5 each were just as named EFFEN GOOD. Cucumber Vodka(Effen Good) with fresh lime juice and mint. The most delicious and refreshing drink. Ridiculously good. Waitress Gaby, a peach. Cant wait to try $1 Burger night Tues. Selected apps, drafts, wine, martinis, 1/2 price. Cant beat it. 2 of us couldn't even finish the apps.

This place is a nice atmosphere with a friendly staff. The food is really good, but I am giving this place three stars for the lack of vegetarian options. They do have a few items, but I feel like they could have worked more in the menu. Also, the staff was great serving the food fast. However, when it came time for the bill, we waited 25 minutes for them to bring it. I went here after work during happy hour. They have some good deals. Happy hour ends at 7pm.

I come here on the weekends with my fiancé. It's a nice place to hangout if your going to a movie after, or if you just want to grab a few drinks. There food is debatable. Sometimes it's really good and other times it is dreadful. The classic burger is always a good route to go when ordering here, they've only messed it up one time for me. If you get the wings make sure to get them well done sauce on the side.

    (3)
  • Joe F.

The food is mediocre at best. You have to wait for everything. The only reason I go there is for happy hour right after work when there's no one in there. My friends and I can stay there all night and not to have to worry about keeping the table for so long. It has been very inconsistent for year. It's not my favorite place and don't look forward to going there.

Great Conversation + Spicy Food + Roadtrip = A Fun Saturday! I want to thank Patty for organizing a great UYE and introducing me to another place where I can indulge my spicy food cravings. The place itself is what I'd call upscale sports bar. Its a fairly new building "town center" on what one of our dining companions said is the site of old Motorola plant. (Yes, I know, I can be a geek :/) The lighting was subtle that allowed for a chill dinner, and the flat screen TV's were plentiful showing a mix of college football and the Heat winning! I ordered a plate of voodoo chicken, which cast a spicy spell on my mouth. For the "uninitiated" in the ritual, throw a spicy piece of blackened chicken mix in clean rice, a cream sauce, green and RED PEPPERS and you have the makings of a great Saturday dinner. My PB Sundae was original and made for good late lunch today (I took it to go). I didn't try any of the drinks and stuck to a coke (refills were prompt) and wait service was friendly. Besides our great host Patty and her husband, I got to socialize withTiffany and Greshka, along with some hopefully future Yelpers :). Certainly worth the drive and can see myself coming back this way!

Came here Sunday for dinner with my parents as the usual was closed for unknown reasons. We were only the third table occupied in the place. They couldn't get the orders right, fries were cold and then we got someone else's bill. Service was horrible, the manager could care less. We will not be back! Now there will be only 2 tables occupied. Good luck

Sorry, Bar Louie. I keep trying to give you chances, but you are really having a lot more bad days than good. Service is typically VERY slow now. almost 40 minutes for our food to get out of the kitchen and it wasn't very busy. This unfortunately has been the norm as of late. Also, we put in an order for an appetizer with the manager working last night since the bartender waiting on us was busy with something, and the manager never put in our order. That seems like a huge oversight for being a manager. We asked our bartender, Rachel, about it since she wasn't the one who took the order, and she said "oh, she didn't even put that in." At least the manager comped my boyfriend and I a round of drinks for this mistake. The adobo shrimp skewer app that we eventually got was good. The tilapia vera cruz was just okay but not as good as it used to be, and the shrimp bayou pasta was seriously lacking. The consistency of what you order here varies drastically. Bar Louie needs to up their service speed, food quality/consistency and attentiveness so they can live up the the potential that is there.

Service is horrible. Sat outside for 15 minutes with no service. Went to the bar and the bartender took the drink order. Sat back down, another server walked by and said, "I'll get your server". Dude, how bout you just help us........won't be back. Too bad, they have a great beer selection-just no one to bring it to you.

    (1)
  • Brad W.

Over 40 beers on tap and $1 off 20oz beers on weekends. We tried the $11 nachos which were a bit overpriced, but the dish did contain all the usual nacho condiments. Not a fan of the cheese sauce on nachos as I prefer real cheese that is heated in oven. The chicken was good chunks of white meat and there was plenty of black beans in the mix. They had my favorite tap beer which is from Breckenridge Brewery. Outdoor seating area marred by idiots puffing on cigars and cigs. Very empty inside on Sunday afternoon - everybody hanging out at Hurricane alley where drinks are half price all day.

I've been there twice. Both times the same female bartender, Elise, was extremely rude to my friends and me. The first time, she was flirting with a random dude at the bar, attempted to threw a lime at him, hit my friend instead, laughed in her face, and apologized to the guy. Rude. The second time, she took our drink order and then disappeared from the bar. For the next half an hour she would return to the bar to do a quick lap, ignoring us every time. We finally had to ask someone else to close our tab. The bar was busy but not packed. No excuse. The only reasons I gave this place 3 stars are that (1) we spoke to the manager about the bartender and he spoke with her and (2) our table waitress Miranda was wonderful.

$1 Burger Night and other special events are usually the draw here. The only problem with the draw is that service tends to take a hit on the nights those specials are usually taking place. While the food has gotten better since they reworked their menu and marketing, the service tends to lack. That is the biggest hit. The food is fairly consistent and there are times when those burger orders tend to get mixed up, if they took just a bit more diligence in making sure orders were correct and doing their table rounds better, this place could easily creep up to a 3.5 or a 4. The hostesses are usually very bubbly and friendly. The ones that need help are the servers. We have had a decent server from time to time, but for the most part, we seem to come back to the same complaint. Why does it matter that your dinner only costs $3 when you buy $15-20 worth of drinks and appetizers. We come in a large group, usually 5+ and never seem to spend less than $25 a person. The drink changes and improvements in food quality are a good draw. Their specials are worth noting and make sure to sign up for the email list. Just have your fingers crossed you don't get a bad server.

Crappy, slow service, like other people said, even when the place is not packed. Food is okay. We asked for a salad without the bacon and it came out with bacon. The two portabello burgers didn't come out with the basil pesto sauce, like they were supposed to and the waiter was nowhere to be found. That was after a 40 minute wait for the food. Get your act together people! It's not rocket science!

I have been here a few times over the last couple of years and didn't really think much about it one way or the other. We would hit it when the 3 for 1 happy hour at the now defunct Marguerites' got too packed on Friday nights. I certainly was never compelled to write about the joint but lately I have been exercising my journalistic chops more often so here goes. There are a million places to get a beer and a some decent food for a decent price...but I must say that Tuesday night which was Christmas eve, while many shopped or had family plans I just had to get out or go out of my mind. I had heard about the dollar burgers as quite frankly (not a pun) I usually chill at the Ale house across the street and it's been brought up by a few guys that rave about it. Well now I'm a raver. Made mine a Philly burger for a couple bucks more. Drank me another 20 oz Arrogant Bastard for $4.50.. I'm thinking this is a deal and a half! What have I been waiting for! I drank 3 craft 20 oz beers and wolfed a top notch high quality beef burger for under $20. Fun atheist couple next to me, I swear they were swingers, the conversation got rather salty to say the least ..but the whole experience was a 5 star time. I realize that I hit it on an off Tuesday and I bet it's mobbed next Tue but I'm going to get there early if I can. It's my new ruby on Tuesday's. Would I try it on another night not on happy hour and order different items ...prob not, I read the reviews and why be disappointed as nothing can compare to the $1 burger night.

Extremely bad service-(1 hr. for a burger), (45 minutes for a drink)...short pours on wine (proven)....cold and/or incorrect food orders...manager always in back out of sight..mostly inexperienced staff. I blame management and training..or lack thereof. Have talked to corporate..they are aware of the problem but don't seem to want to permanently fix. This particular location is known to be bad even by other franchisees.

This place is a hit or miss when it comes to service and atmosphere. The outside bar is probably the better place to socialize and enjoy beers while the food and inside is poor. The last time we went, we had chosen to eat inside at the bar. We ordered coronas and wanted lime to go with it, but they were out of it. We also ordered wings and I wanted the hottest sauce they had which is supposedly the en fuego flavor. It was weak and the flavoring was pretty bad. The bartender, Mike, was obviously a meathead because he never checked us after bringing our food to ensure that our stay at the bar was good. By the time we were ready to leave, we asked him for a carryout box and check and we waited for a good 20 minutes trying to get his attention again while he was busy talking, texting, and tending to his other customers who seemed to be his buddies. So I gave up and grabbed the attention of a waitress who was quick and gave us a box, the check, and did the credit card transaction quickly, too. We tipped her and not Mike who had originally taken care of our order. It is a shame that this place is pretty big on the inside on the east side that every time we come in, even when it is crowded at the bar inside and outside- there is hardly anyone sitting at the big tables. There should be a couple of pool tables or darts to increase the fun and sociability of the bar inside. Also, we've decided not to eat and drink inside of Bar Louie anymore because the inside somehow has become funky smelling like butt when you exit/enter it from the south side. So from now on, we enjoy our drinks and grub at the Irish pub, Slainte's which is on the other side of the building in the plaza.

I had the unfortunate displeasure of meeting my girl out at this joint. She was hanging out with a few girlfriends from work for another friends birthday. These women are older, not quite prime mainstream working chicks, so I figured Bar Louie must have had some dumb ass sex and the city type of appeal to them. Frankly all I heard all night were comparisons of men and I wanted to shoot myself the minute I got there. The atmosphere was dark and crowded. The real problem was noise. This place was like 120 db with a band outside blaring some cover tunes and all. We were inside. I am a musician and I can handle noise, but forget about Bar Louie if you want to have a nice chat. It took me 20 minutes to get a second drink from our server. I actually had to go to the outside bar and push some people out of the way to get the bartenders attention. I ended up tipping $40 bucks on $70...kind of my over generous insult tip. I won't be going back and I don't see why this place appeals to anyone. Then again who is this place trying to appeal to?

I have been here many times and love Bar Louie. Food is always good and service is good as well. In the winter they put heaters outside on cooler nights to keep people warm. They currently have a special for burgers for a dollar on Tuesdays night and the place is very busy so expect a wait for your dollar burger.
